Notes: Dennis Quaid plays a professor who ends up in the hospital after accident due to a seizure. Ellen Page is his daughter, who refuses to help him out by driving him around, which he can’t legally do for six months. Thomas Haden Church plays Quaid’s stepbrother, who makes a surprise visit to borrow money but ends up as his chauffeur, as well as a friend to Page. Sarah Jessica Parker is the doctor who attends Quaid in the hospital and ends up falling for him. Smart People looks understated but very promising.
