Oscar’s Foreign Films Category Rules Questioned

A number of foreign filmmakers are wondering why their films are not eligible for the Oscars this year. This includes films by such well-known industry players such as Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain) and Julian Schnabel (Basquiat). As a result, they’re questioning some of the Oscar rules of eligibility.
