Notes: I like Angela Bassett but I’m not a Tyler Perry/ Madea fan. This movie does seem like a much more serious offering than his previous efforts. On the other hand, it’s a remake of Tyler’s own 2004 version of Meet the Browns, which is tagged with just “Comedy”. This one is tagged with both Comedy and Drama. I haven’t done a full comparison, but while there are some of the same actors reprising their roles, there are new characters as well.
