I Am Legend

I Am Legend, starring Will Smith as the last man on Earth, comes out in theaters Dec 14th. If you’ve seen the trailers, you can see how “dark” it is, even if the general premise didn’t already give it away. The story is based on a novel nearly fifty years old by Richard Matheson, supposedly about vampires – though the trailers suggest zombies.

Now, I haven’t read the novel, much less heard about it despite my love for the horror and speculative fiction markets. I do know that Will Smith has starred in numerous movie adaptations of novels, and that I was not disappointed. In fact, I cannot think of too many movies he’s been in this decade that were disappointing. That said, on the basis of the trailers alone, I’m looking forward to this movie.
