Notes: The title of this film might invoke memories of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer and Frank Costanza create “the bro”, a bra for men. But Bra Boys is documentary about an Australian surf gang, based in Sydney, known as the Bra Boys. The name comes from the suburb of Maroubra, shortened to “bra”. The gang has a notorious reputation that includes riots and a murder investigation. Writer/ director Sunny Abberton is a Bra Boy himself, as are his two brothers Jai and Koby, who are in the film, along with several other members. Russell Crowe narrates, and will apparently be directing the feature adaptation of this movie.
